Q&A WITH SKA STREET BREWSTILLERY

A joint project of Ska Brewing & its sister company, Palisade’s Peach Street Distillers, Ska Street Brewstillery in Boulder, Colorado includes a restaurant, a ten-barrel brewing system, a 450-liter still, thirty taps of Ska beers, a mixology program and all of the music-inspired silliness the has made Ska one of Colorado’s favorite destinations. We learned more about this one of a kind spot from General Manager Katie Nierling.

Q. WHAT'S YOUR NAME?

A. Katie Nierling

Q. WHAT'S YOUR TITLE?

A. General Manager

Q. HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THE NAME OF YOUR BREWERY?

 A. Ska Street comes from our two parent companies. We are Colorado's first brewery and distillery under one roof. We blend the character and history of two legendary Colorado's companies on the Front Range.

Q. WHAT BEER/BRANDS INSPIRED YOU IN CREATING YOUR OWN BRAND?

A. Ska Brewing's roots are in punk rock and a love of balanced, full flavored beer - it takes character to brew beer with character! Onsite in Boulder we have brewed clean and classic styles, a few with simple adjuncts and kettle sours that are crisp and refreshing.

Q. WHAT IS YOUR BREWERY MOST KNOWN FOR?

A. We are a 'band of misfits' focusing on a scratch kitchen to make food filled with love - all paired and shared over a great craft beer or spirit.

Q. THE ALIENS HAVE FINALLY HAD ENOUGH, YOU GET ONE LAST ITEM FROM YOUR BREWERY'S MENU BEFORE THEY EVAPORATE EARTH. WHAT IS IT?

A. Our smoked fish and chips - whitefish smoked with Grand Valley peach wood, battered with Ska Brewing's Rue B Soho and flash fried. A hint of smoke to the fish with the light and crispy buttermilk batter is so delicious!

A. Dry Dock Cranberry sour, Ska Mexican Dark Lager, Tieton Cranberry Cider, some higher ABV Dogfish brews and Ratio Dear You.
